Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is the older sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko was the first to start combat sports in the form of an Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut in her first IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals with a unanimous decision. Antonina was able to follow it up, and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia was first introduced to the professional world in 2003. She took home at the world championships for light Welterweight at WKC in in 2012 and the Lightweight Lion Fight Championships in 2016 as well as both the WMC World Championships and Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina was the last time she fought Isa Tidblad Keskikangas in The Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's pro MMA debut came in 2002, at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan when she faced Anara Bayanova. She won via second-round TKO after which she won 2 more fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to achieve a record of 3-0. Shevchenko took a break from MMA in order to concentrate on her kickboxing and came back against Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3 in 2017. Shevchenko had the chance to beat Anissa in a unanimous decision and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. She resigned from the organization and started Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko battled Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina displayed her slashing skills by knocking out Nievera using knees. Antonina Shevchenko was awarded the UFC contract following this win. Antonina Shychenko debuted for the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modeafferi with an unanimous decision. She then was unable to win her next fight because of an unanimous verdict. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss and fought Lucie Prudilova in UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler by submitting a rear naked choke submission. It was the top fight of night for this fight. Shevchenko lost 1-2 in her next 3-fights, defeating Ariane Lipski, and then losing to Katlyn Chookagian, and Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos -Walker.
